My interests are personal computers, woodworking and tools, motorcycles, movies and books.
My latest two wheeler is a motor scooter on steroids, a Suzuki 650 Burgman. After 1000 miles I couldn't be more pleased. The Burgman has a big 650 cc engine with great performance, a comfortable riding position, plenty of range, and a handy size. It has an automatic transmission which, after shifting gears on bikes for 50+ years, is welcome change. It has a good turn of speed and will cruise the interstates with ease.
The latest computer hardware I bought were a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. They work just like a wired keyboard and mouse with no delays. They are one step toward my goal of cleaning up the rats nest of wires and cables coming out of the back of my computer. I also recently got a Dell 1501 laptop computer and this eliminated the display cable and power cord. My next purchase will be an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax that will run on my wireless network. That will be two more cables and two more power cords eliminated. Most of my computer time for the last few months has been moving all my software and files from my old desktop machine to my new one. This is always a hassle. I bought Laplink software to automate the job but it kept bombing out. $30 down the drain.
I have to admit that my woodworking hobby consists of mainly buying power tools and building rolling stands and fixtures for them. One handy thing that I recently bought is a rolling hydraulic table that I can raise and lower. This is handy for moving heavy equipment and projects around the garage/shop. It also serves an instant outfeed table for my table saw and thickness planer. I also recently acquired two handy tools, a Bosch hand router and a digital caliper. The caliper is one of the new ones that displays fractional inches, 1/4, 3/128, etc.. Very hand for the wood worker.
